About Universal Steel Consults Ltd
An industrial engineering and technical consulting firm serving steel manufacturers and industrial investors across East Africa.
A technical consultancy, not a manufacturer
Universal Steel Consults Ltd is an engineering and technical consulting firm. We do not manufacture steel products ourselves — we advise, design, review, and supervise on behalf of steel manufacturers and industrial investors who are building or expanding their own production capacity.
Our engagements span the technical decisions that determine whether a steel plant is built correctly and operates reliably: factory layout and site mapping, machinery selection and technical review, installation and erection supervision, commissioning, business planning and investment analysis, and staff training and handover.
Documented client engagements include a factory setup and commissioning contract with Mira Steel & Roofings Limited in Burundi, a business plan and investment analysis for a Continuous Galvanizing Line plant for Musumba Steel (Tanzania) Limited, and a technical consultancy agreement with Namukupa Steel Company in Uganda.

Mission
To provide steel manufacturers and industrial investors in East Africa with accurate technical advisory, disciplined project supervision, and business planning that reduce the risk and cost of building a steel production plant.
Vision
To be a leading independent technical advisory firm for steel plant development in East Africa, recognized for rigorous engineering review and direct, on-site technical supervision.
Values that shape our engagements
Technical accuracy
We review machinery documentation, drawings, and equipment specifications line by line, and correct errors and omissions before installation begins.
Client sign-off on changes
Any change to agreed machinery, sizing, or site plans is communicated to the client for approval before it is actioned.
Direct site presence
We supervise steel erection and final machine positioning on site, rather than issuing advisory reports from a distance.
Defined scope and deliverables
Each engagement sets out clear deliverables, payment milestones, and exclusions, so clients know exactly what is covered.
Practical engineering judgment
Recommendations are grounded in constructability and operability, not theoretical designs disconnected from site conditions.
Knowledge transfer
Training and handover to the client's own personnel is built into our factory setup and commissioning engagements.
Working across East Africa
Our documented project experience spans three countries, with capacity to serve manufacturers and investors across the wider region.
